WAT IS SIFTING?
Sifting can be simplified into 5 steps (or ‘sifts’) that can be repeated as required in order to thoroughly analyse and optimise processes. We can re-sift processes in order to see whether optimisations work as intended, and do not create new issues.
Process mining
We use the tool Disco for process mining.
Disco is a tool that objectively visualizes business- and work processes based on loggings. The order of process steps becomes visible, including lead times.
Unintentional, ‘hidden’ steps are revealed and the step backwards are clearly shown. At which part of the process do bottlenecks emerge and which department creates delays?
Lean
Lean is: creating customer value with fewer resources. When something can be improved today, do not wait until tomorrow. Do not wait until the next project, after reviewing the current project. Lean has the tools for continuous optimisation, without burdening the organisation. Lean tools help solve bottlenecks, such as those unveiled with process mining.
